Look #1 - Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Palette by Tarte

I used only 4 eyeshadows for this look with Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Palette by Tarte. It was a very quick look as it did not take much effort. I don't know if you can tell but I did not even place an inner corner highlight nor did I smoke out my lower lash line since I was just going to work. I still wanted to show the simple eye shadow I achieved with the palette.

EYESHADOWS USED:
  • Mystical (metallic magenta)
  • Wish (deep plum matte)
  • Gossamer (cream matte)
  • Frolic (light brown matte)
STEPS
1. Placed primer; for me I used the foundation that I already had.
2. Set the entire lid from inner corner to brow bone using a fluffy precise blending brush like a 217 by Mac with the color Gossamer.
3. On the outer corner V with the same brush blend the color Frolic very defused out.
4. Placed the Wish shade on the very outer crease to add definition.
5. With the Mystical magenta I used my index finger and place it over the lid. Then blended out the edges.

PICTURES FROM MAKEUPURMIND POSHMARK

I am in love with this set of brushes by Morphe. The brushes are very soft and the set is very affordable on the Morphe website $159.
The set has literally a brush for everything. I love how soft they feel on my face and how precise each one is.

I bought this set for $84 on Haute Look. I should have bought two sets. They are perfect to gift.
The gold barrels look and feel sturdy. The gilded gold looks gorgeous on my vanity and in my pictures. I have had no shedding at all.

I will be purchasing another set and decluttering my not so used ones and the old brushes.

Tell me in the comment section below what brushes are your favorite? And if you have tried this set from Morphe.

love, trust & fairy dust eye & cheek palette by Tarte

The Packaging on this palette is gorgeous! The rose gold with the purple is a beautiful combination. The added glitter and stars add that girly finishing touch. I can't complain about Tartes packaging they always give us something extra with what they do.

The shades in this palette are very romantic shades. They create a very soft look on the eyes. The Tarte website says that it is an eye and cheek palette. I honestly don't know how its a cheek palette for me. The highlight is to shimmery for my liking and to pale for my skin. However I can use it for an inner corner highlight.

The Shimmer shadows definitely need a base down so that they can stay in place. I normally place these shadows with my fingers but these shimmers feel more chunky. The mattes feel very soft and blend able. I have to further play with this palette to give an overall opinion but I thought I would share swatches.

THIS IS HOW THE TARTE WEBSITE DESCRIBES THE PALETTE.
WHAT IT IS
An eye & cheek palette full of dreamy, #flowerpowered shades so creamy & pigmented, you’ll swear they’re magical.
Includes 11 shades:
  • mystical (metallic magenta)
  • wish (deep plum matte)
  • gossamer (cream matte)
  • frolic (light brown matte)
  • twinkle (metallic gold)
  • flitter (metallic light pink)
  • wonder (deep plummy brown matte)
  • whimsical (purple mauve matte)
  • giggle (light mauve matte)
  • magic (metallic rosy copper with silver shimmer)
  • flower crown (metallic white champagne)
WHAT IT DOES
  • 10 eyeshadows & 1 highlighter in rosy, plummy & neutral shades
  • Shimmering metallics & creamy, never-chalky mattes in magnetic, removable pans laid out to look like a flower
  • Amazonian clay & mineral pigments help balance skin on lids to prevent pigment creasing or fading .

From First Palette to Daily Dose of Hue

Hello Hues!

I wanted to take a moment to share a little about myself and my blog journey. Before Daily Dose of Hue, I experimented with names like officialmisskg and beautybyfabby, but I was always on the hunt for the perfect blog name...something catchy, inspiring, and true to me. With Daily Dose of Hue, I finally feel like I’ve found that sweet spot: unique, catchy, and full of personality. I’m excited to share this space with you! I’m not a professional writer, but I am passionate about beauty, and I hope to share that excitement with all of you.

A little about me: my name is K, and I’ve loved makeup ever since I received my first palette at the age of six. I’ll never forget the Avon representative who used to visit my grandma’s door, showing the latest seasonal products. My grandma bought me a palette that included eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. It was so beautiful that I didn’t even want to touch it, afraid I’d ruin it. I carried that palette with me all the way from Mexico, and I still remember feeling a little heartbroken when I finally let it go.

I was the rebel in fifth grade, rocking eyeliner and mascara when makeup wasn’t allowed, and by eighth grade, I was experimenting with colored mascara and dark liner in my waterline. For me, makeup has always been a way to stand out, to give my face that extra oomph and draw the attention I craved. I couldn’t always afford it, which might explain why I have a bit of a love affair with makeup now!

I’m not a professional makeup artist, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with it. We all have parts of ourselves we wish we could change or skills we wish we had. For now, I’m here, sharing my love for beauty with you through this blog.

The day of my Quinceañera was the very first time I had my makeup done by a professional. She used all MAC products, and I’ll never forget watching her work so delicately on my face, thinking, How am I going to look afterward? She shaped my brows, applied lashes...the whole enchilada, lol. That day was so special, and I felt incredibly confident with my makeup on. Believe it or not, that look lasted two days! How do I know? I didn’t wash it off at all and slept with it on and woke up the next day feeling like a princess, hahaha. Makeup has truly been a part of my from a young age.

When I started wearing glasses, I got really upset because I felt like my makeup didn’t show as well. For about a year, I mostly stuck to liner, mascara, and foundation. I couldn’t even see myself clearly in the mirror, and it was frustrating. One day, while decluttering my makeup, I thought, Are you seriously going to stop wearing all this makeup? That’s when I dug out my 5x magnifying mirror, and suddenly I could see every blended eyeshadow and catch even the tiniest harsh line. From that moment on, I wore my makeup proudly under my glasses with no apologies! Don’t ever let anything stop you from enjoying what you love.

Beauties, thank you so much for reading this if you got this far! I’d love to hear your stories...share in the comments how you got into makeup.

Wishing you well, K.

Pictorial - Soft Glam Palette by ABH

Hello Beauties! Just wanted to share a quick Soft Glam Pictorial with you all. I don't know if it helps but I figured I would trigger your brain a little. I did not use a primer only the foundation that I already had on.

Place Tempura fluffed out all over the lid with the same brush that is included in the palette make sure it is clean. Use the bigger fluffy side. Place it from inner corner out to brow bone, covering entire lid area.

Going in with Orange Soda in the middle outer V of the lid. Covering entire crease area making sure you bring it out diffused into the color placed before.

Following with Burnt Orange same step as before but bringing it lower on the crease to create definition and still be able to see the previous color peek through. We are making a gradient effect from light to dark.

Sienna is going to be placed below Burnt Orange fluffed out creating a smokey effect. Making sure every color is peeking through so that there is no visible harsh lines.

Last matte shade will be Mulberry and this color will add the extra smokiness with out it being to dark and making your eye look very wearable yet soft and glammed.  Place it more towards the outer V. All this time you should have been using the same fluffy side but since we are going from lightest to darkest it should be no need to clean the brush each time.

Now with the same steps before you will do to the bottom lash line. Connect it with the outer V.

Moving into shimmer shadows using my index finger I placed Sultry onto my lid not covering my crease just my lid area. You can also use the small side of your brush.

Finally to make the eye complete and put together I placed Glistening my favorite gold in the palette and placed it on the inner corner top and bottom of my eye with my pinkie finger. This step really opened my eyes and it gave it that extra shine the eyes needed.

Key is to blend blend blend and go in from the lightest shade to the darkest always letting each color peek thru. The brush the palette provides is actually very soft and it blends effortlessly.  The shading side of the brush is also great for placing shimmers on the lid. If you later on want to make this shadow more smokey and night time appropriate place the Noir shade on the outer V and lower lash line for a more sultry smokey eye look. I really hope this pictorial helps and if you like them let me know in the comment section down below. XOXO

My Favorite Drugstore Moisturizers

Hello Beauties thank you for stopping by. I have combination skin and when I moisturize it helps with any imperfections and it also acts as barrier from my makeup. Moisterizers help improve tone and texture as you all know how textured my face is. With that I wanted to share some of my most favorite face creams that I wear alone or under my makeup.

YESto tomatoes I use when I have a lot of redness on my face. I swear this lotion is magic for that. It has no scent witch I love because I am allergic to a lot of scented lotions. I let it sink into my skin before applying  makeup over it and I find that it works great with makeup products.

My all time favorite lotion is the Vitamin E Cream from De la Cruz it smells amazing without irritating my skin. It has such a fresh scent that I love. For me personally vitamin E creams have helped me a lot with discoloration, scars and dryness. I have yet need to find something for my texture but I can say that my scars have faded and my discoloration has improved. I really love love this cream and I wish more people would talk about it. Another great thing about it is that it can be a bit sticky and it helps foundation stick to the moisturizer, for more long lasting application.

Last but not least I use and love the Nivea Soft Face Cream. I wear this for a very supple soft face. Again infused with vitamin E and jojoba Oil. It has a very minimal fresh scent. I also put this on other people like family members when I am applying their makeup. Very universal lotion non irritating like all the other ones I have mention and they wear great under makeup.

All these lotions are very affordable and you can find them at any drugstore. I highly recommend and love. If you have any questions don't hesitate to leave them down below. Once again thank you for stopping by until next time! XOXO

My Travel Brushes

Welcome back Beauties! I wanted to separate my posts because the make up travel one was super long. Anyways here is my Travel Brushes in a separate post. I hope you all enjoy. Please if you have any suggestions on upcoming posts let me know.

Originally I was going to only pack my Morphe Gilded Set but some of the brushes were dirty. If I had to recommend a set it would be that one. The brushes are all very soft and sturdy and you get pretty much a brush for every makeup application need. Then I realized I had a mix of so many brushes. Of coarse I packed them in the order that I do my makeup so that again I wouldn't forget any behind.

Starting with foundation and concealer I use a variation of the Real Techniques Sponge and the It Cosmetics #101 Brush the both are great for foundation and blending into the skin. The sponge helps me remove any creasing.

For setting the face with powder I use also two brushes. The E.L.F Small Tapered Brush for under the eyes. It is a great fit for such a tight space, also very soft. And for all over the face powder I use Morphe Y3 from the Gilded Set.

Moving onto bronzer and blush I use the Sigma F10 for bronzer it is very flexible for good blend ability. For blush I use the Morphe E4. This brush is a little bit dense making it hard to blend your blush but it also packs a good amount of blush.

Moving on to highlight.. I was at a point where I didn't use much highlight but after discovering my essence highlight in sunlight I am obsessed and not shy on packing it up. I have been using one and only one  brush again from the Gilded set Y11. I love how dense it is but not to dense that I can't blend out my highlight.

Last but not least my eye brushes. They pretty much consist on the 217 by Mac and 239 by Mac. 217 for blending and 239 for packing shadow on the lid. For inner corner highlight I use from the Gilded set Y15. Sigma E25 is dupe for 217 by Mac and also is the Morphe M433. So there you Beauties have it. Let me know if any of you have questions in the comment section down below. Hugs&Kisses!

My Travel Makeup

Hello Beauties! I celebrated my birthday over the weekend and as I was unpacking my makeup at the hotel it gave me the idea to share it with all of you and kind of give you an idea of what I brought with me. I packed everything in the order that I apply it on my face, to ensure I had everything I needed in my makeup pouch. Every product I brought was exactly what I needed.
When I was packing my makeup I was thinking on bringing makeup I know and love. Products that I have repurchased again and again because I know they work. I brought nothing new. And honestly a lot of the products are youtube gurus favorite products also.

I will try to link everything the best that I can incase you all want to purchase. Starting from the makeup pouches. These beautiful bags I bought at Marshalls a year ago to be exact. I was traveling away from home and I wanted to get see thru bags because I want to be able to see what is inside my bags for easy grab. The brand is Revlon with kissy lips all over them. I love them and they fit all my essential products perfectly. They zip up, easy to clean and very sturdy. I could not find a direct link but so many brands sell the see thru makeup bags.

Moving onto face primer. I have been loving the Tatcha Silk Canvas primer I am obsessed with this magical primer! You know when you have a really cheap foundation that you are trying to make work? Well put this primer under and it will turn it into a very expensive foundation. That is how I would describe it. Not only does it make your skin very supple but your foundation will glide on like a dream.

Concealer and foundation were an easy pick for me. I have been loving and hating at the same time the Fiona Stiles matte finish foundation. This baby has been discontinued but I temporarily found a link where it is being sold at and I bought two more bottles because I just trashed my empty bottle. I couldn't scrape any more product out. I am in the shade 05, perfect shade and it is matter but not to matter where it looks ugly in the perfect matte to my combo skin. It looks very natural on me. for concealer I have been using this product over any other in the market and its the Instant Age Rewind by Maybelline in the shade neutralizer. The coverage and consistency on this is great not to thick not to runny and the yellowish tint makes my under eye look flawless.

Bronzers and setting powders are my least favorite products to buy and to apply. I think that if you don't apply correctly they can get very muddy on the face. For a cream contour/bronzer I have recently rediscovered this product on my collection. The Soleil Tan De Chanel I was really regretting purchasing this product but it was many gurus favorite so I gave it another chance and now that my skin is a shade lighter I can see the hype. It is very settle shade and very universal though if you are darker than the shade like I once was I don't know if you will like it. I apply it after my foundation to give my cheeks some dept. For a bronzer powder I have actually been using an all over face powder in two shades darker than my skin tone. I use the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium dark. The reason for this is that most powder bronzers with the exception of the Butter Bronzer by Physicians Formula I don't know why I left that one behind I tend to mix the two but anyways other bronzers make my application look muddy. I don't know if I might be applying them wrong but I always just use a face powder one or two shades darker than my foundation. For setting powder I use the Laura Mercier powder in translucent. I love how fine this powder is but I only use it under my eye area and for the rest of my face I use the Fit Me! Matte & Poreless powder by Maybelline. I use Laura to prevent creasing under my eyes and the Maybelline for an all over the face without the white cast.

Blush & Highlight, I actually have a lot of favorite blushes. I think that depending on the eyeshadow or lipstick I want to wear is how I pick my blush.  I have been loving the No7 Dampson blush. I actually have a backup of it also. I love this shade because very lightly applied you can wear it with any other shades. My all time favorite highlight now and ever is the new be my sunlight by essence. I have very much textured skin but this highlight OMG I apply all over my face without being shy and it doesn't emphasize my texture. I wish everyone was talking more about this new shade. We all know and love the original but this is so good.

Mascara and Brow liner.. I recently got eyelash extensions and I have only been applying mascara on my bottom lashes but either way the essence False Lash Effect mascara is great for both top and bottom lashes. Essence has some great hidden gems for a very affordable price. The mascara is not flaky or smudgy. My brows on the other hand are already bushy so very minimal product is necessary. I just took one product with me and its the NYX Precision Brow pencil like I said I don't like my brows to thick or overdrawn this does everything I need and it has a spoolie. I have it  in the shade  soft brown.

For lipstick I brought is a liquid lipstick but not one that would be over drying on the lips. I am not one to reapply my lipstick so I had to make sure it was one that was going to last at least 8hrs. I been loving the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink most shades but when I am indecisive I use 70 Amazonian. The formula on all of these are super comfortable.

Finally but not least I have eyeshadows and setting spray left. My all time favorite palette right now is the soft glam by Anastasia Beverly Hills. This palette is beat up from how much I use it. The range of colors are my favorites. I know exactly what kind of look I am going for when I open up this palette. I also brought the wet n wild brulee single eyeshadow. I love this to apply as a base for all my other eyeshadows to blend effortlessly.  The best part of all is combining all your makeup into one! Setting my makeup feels so good after 30 minutes spent blending and applying. I have been loving for the past two years the Urban Decay de-slick setting spray. I may have old packaging. I find this one controlling my oils and setting my makeup for atleast 6 hours. I love the fresh feel on my face when it combines my makeup into one. It does not break me out like a lot of other setting sprays on the market.

A huge thank you to all of my beauties for stopping by. Please keep the conversation going in the comments down below. And until next time hugs and kisses!

The Importance of Tools in your Makeup Bag

I can’t stress enough how important it is to carry your makeup tools along with your all time favorite makeup products. You don't have to be a makeup artist to do it. All these tools are to make your makeup application so much easier. I will start in no particular order. FYI all products listed are from E.L.f. Cosmetics. Very affordable and very good quality.

tweezers - are very important because we don’t always have the time to get our brows done or just get those unwanted hairs removed. Take two minutes with your tweezers and your makeup will look so much better!

spoolie - I love using a spoolie for those times I want my brows to stay in place for longer than 6 hours! I will add some gel or hairspray and I am good to go. Great tool for those of us with bushy brows :)
eyeshadow applicators/ q-tips- These have been my favorites for a very long time maybe since I started using makeup. I use them to place very pigmented shimmery shadows on my eye lids. They work just as your finger would. And well q-tips are great for easy fast cleaning makeup mistakes.

pencil sharpeners - even in school no one had them 😂 and we end up damaging our eyes with the sharp edges of the un-sharpen pencils we use for our lips or eyes. We want sharp lines and colors not edges.

mixing palette - Sometimes when I pick my outfit before applying my makeup there have been times where I get foundation from my hand on to my clothes  and its very irritating because I have to pick another top and then end up changing my outfit again. My point is, if you have a habit like me, of mixing foundations on the back of your hands a mixing palette can come in handy very well.

makeup bags - even just zip-lock baggies. I am obsessed with make up bags. Pretty ones, see through ones. I own so many it is ridiculous but I love to use them. I like to keep my tools in one, my face brushes in another one, my eye brushes and makeup in another. It makes traveling easy and I know where everything is without digging to much.

silicone glitter applicator/ lash glue/ glitter glue - before I forget to add the glues. I use glitter applicators when I want to add that extra step to a night out look. They are easy to clean and less messy to use. Of coarse do not forget the glitter glue and the lash glue for that extra glam on your eyes.

Eyelash curler - I don't always curl my lashes because I use a lot of waterproof mascara and that keeps my lashes up longer. But when I want to just use regular mascara I do curl my lashes because if I don't I end up with spider leg lashes. Also when I wear fake lashes I use the curler to combine my lashes with the fake ones.

Powder puffs/sponges - Puffs are great to not disrupt your base/foundation while working on your eyes especially if you are like me and leave my eyes for the end. Sponges are great foundation blenders specially the very liquid ones. Sometimes I feel that with certain foundations a brush can leave a streaky line. They have been used for years and years and now they are made so much more sturdy and amazing. And they are great to reach in places brushes cant.

I hope this has helped so much. Lets keep the conversation going down in the comment section and tell me what are your favorite tools.

Currently in my Sephora cart

Shopping online for me is a process. We all know how difficult it is because you kind of base it out of the reviews that the product has or whatever item you are shopping for has already been in your collection before. What I normally do is, I add items that I might be intrigued to buy and when I go to the actual store I will do two things. First I will swatch it in store or I will ask for a sample to take home with me. So it all depends on the product. Then I make a decision if I want to purchase or not.
The products in my cart right now are pricey (for me). On my cart now I have the Carnellia lip balm, the deep cleanse and the Indigo body butter all from Tatcha. And I have tried the first two items but not the body butter and that is because they did not have it in store at the time. So I might just buy it and if I end up not liking it well I can return it because Sephora has a great return program. Anyways the lip balm feels so luxurious and amazing I have no doubts about purchasing it. The deep cleaser I really really love. I tried it with two mini samples I got for 200 points ea. However I feel like I can stick with any of my favorite drugstore cleansers but omg this cleaser does not feel the same. It seriously leaves my face so clean and smooth that I used up the mini samples. (Let me just say I am not one to use up my minis.) So now that they are empty I am wondering if I can just keep asking for samples hahaha! Moving onto the Indigo body butter.. Lately I have been into body butters and I saw great reviews on this so I might just buy it. I have no boubts. I currently own only one Tatcha product the Silk Canvas and I love it! I wishI had a picture to show the big usage i have on it. I will maybe post a pic later.
If any of you have any of these products let me know how you like them.

My Go To Everyday Favorite Palettes

Hey Beauties! Welcome to my blog, I just wanted to share my everyday go to favorite palettes.  And what I mean by favorite everyday palettes is my comfort palettes. Palettes that I know if I use them wont do me wrong. I don't know if many of you know but my favorite Hues are the warm orange tones.  They are the best suitable for me and my skin tone. Don't get me wrong every now and then I will mix up some pops of color but for everyday work and leaving the house in a hurry these are the palettes I use. I am talking about the Anastasia Beverly Hills - Soft Glam and the Tartelette - Toasted Palette. I do not need to think twice when grabbing these palettes. I can easily put an eye look together in no time.  They are both very similar to each other yet so different. I love them both for their pigmentation, blend ability and how easy it is to build them up.

I decided not to show the Naked Heat palette because I don't find myself reaching for it as much even on how similar that palette is to these two. But I don't think is as pigmented and the shadows get very patchy.

Also what I love the most about these palettes is that I can do a very soft or glammed up look. Every time I open them I get very excited because I can easily mix and match. Both are very long lasting. I can easily wear them for 6-10 hours and not need to touch up.  I hope you all enjoyed my little mini post and I am looking forward to posting some more.
