If You Eat the Cupcake Eat the Apple too

Do you ever find yourself walking back and forth into your pantry wanting to find every snack possible and devour it?  I hope it happens to most and not just me. I grew up in a household where snacking was a must and specially during our purification days. Chocolates, pastries to every possible snack on sight. I have yet to master my eating habits and well it's much harder now when there is Netflix and social media at our hands.  Also lets not forget that I live with my father and he is the best snacker individual here. He will bring all sorts of snacks from flan, Mexican bread and rueditas fritas. It's quite of a bittersweet situation. However, here are some things I do that help me be a better snacker.

What I do to combat these cravings and what I also do if I can't resist...

  • start the day with lots of foods rich in fiber (stomach feels full and helps with digestion)
  • drink lots of water throughout the day
  • stop buying unhealthy snacks and change it to healthy snacks (fruits preferably)
  • buy pre-cut fruits (let's be real who wants to cut a pineapple in the middle of a show)
  • no sodas, no bread in your pantry (easy and fast calories that add up quick)
  • baby cucumbers are a must
  • watermelon is also a must
  • guac & chips
  • more water
  • raspberries and strawberries are my favorite
  • dried seaweed
  • lightly salted almonds
If you really have gone thru all your pastries, cause well one can not resist. Please eat some fruits after, the fiber in fruits will help with digestion as well as water. What also helps level the bodies sugar is a shot of raw organic apple cider before bed. The worst feeling is when you have eaten it all and you feel the shame. I usually get up and do the dishes, separate my laundry or just anything that will help to not feel like I have done nothing for my body. Also a 10 minute super intense workout will do the trick. We all have those days and it's okay but if you are going to eat that cupcake eat the apple too.
